Beyond our skilled and experienced dentists, our office is also stocked with the latest dental technology to ensure your smile retains optimal health through all stages of life.

Kids Dentistry

We look forward to kids' faces light up with smiles in our office! We take the time to build excitement about a child's trip to the dentist and love showing children how to keep those "cavity bugs" away.

Along with our kid-approved office amenities, Dr. Cochran and his staff are kid-friendly, happy, and positive. We do our best to help our littler patients feel that way, too! We'll put on cartoons, dim the lights, and get your child comfortable under a cozy blanket for their time with our staff. If needed, we'll give your child some "funny gas" (laughing gas) for relaxation. We use technologies and techniques to perform exams, cleanings, and fillings without shots and all care is provided with a gentle touch. At the end of their appointment, your child will receive a sugar-free lollipop and surprise!

We also encourage checkups for infants and toddlers. We see kids of all ages from babies to teens. The American Dental Association recommends that parents bring children to the dentist for their first checkup soon after the first baby tooth comes in.

Tooth Extractions

Although it is never our first line of treatment, there are situations when a tooth extraction is in the best interest of your smile health. When a root canal or other restorative procedure cannot save a tooth that is badly infected, decayed or damaged, Dr. Cochran can perform a gentle extraction procedure to remove the dead or dying tooth. Rest assured that we conduct our dental procedures with the highest level of precision and care. With our advanced techniques and sedation dentistry options, patients can remain comfortable throughout their tooth extraction visit.

We understand that losing one of your natural teeth is not an ideal situation. However, if we suggest tooth removal, you can trust that it is a necessary action to protect your future smile health and eliminate your discomfort. After your extraction, Dr. Cochran will explain your options for tooth replacement so that your smile appearance and chewing function is properly restored.

Many adults aren't happy with the way their smiles look. Some people even try to hide their mouths when they smile because they are self-conscious. If this describes you, we're here to help you get your smile back.

It used to be that getting straight teeth required months of heavy and obvious braces. Today, it’s easier than ever to get that perfect smile without the effort or embarrassment. Clear braces provide all the benefits of traditional braces without the heavy hardware, painful wires, and difficulty brushing. You won’t have to hide your smile during the process. Braces are now a simple and viable option for adults and children alike!

At Dr. Cochran's office, we take the time to get to know you and explain all available treatment options. As your comfort is our top priority, we offer the latest advancements in sedation dentistry for those patients who choose it. We are able to complete many procedures, from root canals to crown placements, while patients are mildly sedated and relaxed, avoiding the anxiety and stress that some people may feel during dental procedures.

If you choose mild sedation during your treatment, we are able to give you medicine that allows for complete relaxation during your visit but leaves you feeling comfortable and refreshed with full alertness. We also provide nitrous oxide (laughing gas) as an option for your comfort. This safe and easy sedation option can be especially helpful for children and adolescents who may experience dental anxiety.

If you would like sedation during your treatment, we will review your health history, including current medications and habits including alcohol consumption and tobacco use. We take all factors into careful consideration when planning for your treatment.

Oral Surgery

The thought of having a tooth pulled can be scary. Whenever possible, our dental professionals will save your natural tooth. Sometimes conditions in the mouth make it necessary to remove a tooth (or wisdom teeth.) In a painful infection persists or if there is advanced tooth decay, we may recommend tooth removal. There are a number of ways to replace a missing tooth. Our dental professionals will advise you of your treatment and replacement options while keeping your utmost comfort in mind.

Dental Implant

If you are missing some teeth or have some that need to be removed and replaced, a dental implant might be the right choice for you. No other tooth replacement option creates a better, longer-lasting solution than dental implants. Implants are typically small, screw-shaped titanium posts that replace the roots of missing teeth and are covered by porcelain crowns that look and feel just like your old tooth. If ill-fitting, uncomfortable dentures or a retainer with false teeth aren't the right choice for you, ask our dental professionals what we can do to recreate your smile.

Implants help to preserve tooth-supporting bone that naturally deteriorates when a tooth is lost, preventing further problems in the future. As a minor surgical procedure, the post is inserted into the jawbone where the missing tooth once was, and is left to heal for a set period of time before the tooth-like crown is attached. While it heals, the bone fuses to the implant, leading to a 95 percent success rate that corrects even the most severe problems associated with missing teeth.

There are three primary tooth replacement options that we offer: single tooth replacements, multi-tooth replacements, and implant-supported dentures.

Implants Denture

Implant-supported dentures will replace entire jawlines along the top of bottom (or both) rows, acting as a more effective denture. They will not shift around the mouth or fall out when jaw movement occurs from eating or speaking. Instead, implant-supported dentures will lock into place as an entire row of comfortable, bottom- or top-jaw connected row of teeth,

Not only is teeth whitening one of the safest, most effective ways to brighten your smile, it's also one of the most economical. As we age, our teeth are exposed to foods and drinks that stain the teeth and even though they may be perfectly healthy, our teeth may not be as appealing as they could be and rarely stay white for as long as we'd like.

At Dr. Cochran's office, our dental professionals know how important white teeth can be to your confidence: teeth whitening is one of the quickest ways to look younger and the results can be quite dramatic. We have the tools to brighten your teeth three to eight shades in just one hour, while protecting your sensitive gums and teeth root areas. Our in-office whitening solutions are the perfect antidote to stains caused by enamel-darkening beverages like tea, coffee, and red wine, and foods like berries.

Crown Bridge

Sometimes our teeth get weak and break, crack or are severely worn down. Crowns are a great solution that will restore your teeth to their appropriate size, shape, and strength, alleviating any pain you might be experiencing. Usually, crowns are used for single teeth but can also be made for multiple teeth (called a bridge). Dental bridges are fixed porcelain pieces that are permanently joined in a row and can be supported by natural teeth with crowns on them or by implant-supported crowns. They look and feel like your natural teeth but a bridge is removable. How the bridge is built depends on how many teeth are missing, the location of the missing teeth, the size and length of the roots that abutments (tooth root replacements) will be placed in, and the amount of bone support each anchor has. Because of how complex the process can be, designing and creating the bridge requires great understanding of how to replace teeth as well as the way surrounding gum and bone tissue would behave with a bridge nearby. Dr. Cochran and his staff are happy to answer any questions about this procedure that can give you your smile back.

Full or partial tooth loss, if left untreated, don't just affect a person's self-image; it can also increase the risk of developing nutritional deficiencies and other health problems. Fortunately, there's a reliable and time-tested method for treating this condition: full or partial dentures. Dentures are just one option for replacing missing teeth. Other options include fixed bridgework and dental implants. Each method has its particular pluses and minuses, which should be carefully considered. There are also several varieties of dentures available to address specific issues, from partial dentures to implant-supported overdentures. During a consultation, we can explain the available options and help determine which is best for your needs.

Oral Hygene

Have you had your teeth cleaned in the last six months? In-depth dental cleanings are one of the simplest preventative measures that you can have done. The dental professionals at Dr. Cochran's office are skilled at performing gentle yet thorough cleanings that contribute to your overall health and the health of your teeth while adding confidence to your smile.

Gums and teeth benefit from regular brushing and flossing but over time, dental plaque and stains build up on tooth surfaces which may lead to hard deposits that are difficult for brushing and flossing alone to remove. We use the latest cleaning technologies including ultrasonic scaling procedures that use small instruments to remove hard plaque trapped beneath the gums. Ultrasonic scalers act primarily to remove plaque and stains from tooth surfaces in areas that normal brushing and flossing can't reach. A substantial build-up of tartar creates an environment that harbors gum disease. Cleaning these areas can act to prevent gingivitis, tooth decay, and loss of tooth enamel.

Gum Disease

Many adults in the U.S. have some form of gum disease. Periodontal diseases range from simple gum inflammation to serious disease that results in major damage to the soft tissue and bone that support the teeth. Whether your gum disease is slowed, stopped, or gets worse depends a great deal on how well you care for your teeth and gums every day.

People don't usually show signs of gum disease until they are in their 30s or 40s. Men are more likely to have gum disease than women. Although teens rarely develop gum disease, they can develop gingivitis, the milder form of gum disease. Most commonly, gum disease develops when plaque is allowed to build up along and under the gum line.

Our dental professionals will do a thorough examination of your teeth and gums during your visit and consult with you on the best ways to prevent or manage gum disease.

Root Canal

If you're experiencing persistent pain in the area surrounding a single tooth, you may need a root canal -- one of the most frightening phrases a dentist can utter. Despite the negative connotations associated with root canals, they're actually one of the best ways to relieve pain and swelling inside the mouth caused by cavities and bacteria. Without treatment, loss of the tooth is likely, as tooth decay that reaches the pulp tissue inside the tooth causes infection.

Our dental professionals will save your tooth by gently removing damaged tissue and nerves, then carefully cleaning and sealing it to protect it from bacteria. In most cases, root canals are no more uncomfortable than getting a cavity filled -- and we offer comfort options that can put you in a calm, relaxed state while performing this simple procedure.
